This batch of Salish Sea orgánica dishes were formed by the sea, on Galiano Island, British Columbia. The texture and shape is individual to each dish, and each one contains a bit of earth collected from the location in the creation process. The dark flecks are bits of rock that fused into the clay in the firing process. This dish is a true co-creation with the earth.

meet the maker: Of The Earth

Conrad and Dina are ceramic artists from British Columbia, Canada. Their work is a co-creation with the earth and is inspired by the natural textures, hues and formations that exist in our world. Their intrigue with the ancient world and the history of ceramics adds to their inspiration in creating pieces that not only reflect the earth but mankind’s ritualistic relationship with clay for thousands of years.
