Q: What draws you to vintage pieces, and how do you approach curating for your collection?
A: I’ve always been fascinated by the history behind vintage items. Each piece carries its own story, and that’s what excites me—the idea that something was once a part of someone else’s life and can now be woven into a new narrative. When curating for Mararamiro Home, I look for items that feel timeless yet versatile, pieces that can fit into both contemporary and traditional settings. It’s all about balance—mixing old with new to create a space that feels layered and personal.
Q: Let’s talk about the Vintage French Stoneware Bottles. How do you recommend styling them?
A: These bottles are one of those rare finds that are both functional and decorative. They’re perfect for minimal styling—place a single stem or leave them empty as standalone pieces. Their neutral, earthy tones make them easy to incorporate into a variety of aesthetics, from modern to rustic. Grouping them together in different heights creates a simple yet striking display on a mantel or shelf.
Q: The Antique Chinese Grain Storage Jar has such a unique presence. How can people use it in their homes?
A: This piece is definitely a conversation starter! Its size and patina make it a standout in any room. I love it as a statement piece in an entryway or beside a fireplace. But my absolute favourite use for these is as utensil holders in kitchens. The jar has a grounded, earthy feel that brings warmth to more modern spaces, but it can also complement more traditional, rustic decor. It’s the kind of piece that draws attention without trying too hard.
Q: The Warm Caramel Iron-Glazed Dishes seem like they’d be perfect for fall. How do you envision them being used?
A: These dishes are all about adding warmth to your table. The caramel glaze has this beautiful richness that feels perfect for the fall season. These are perfect for modern use, they can beautifully hold incense, jewelry, or simply serve as decorative objects, adding a touch of history and elegance to any space. Their handmade, organic look adds an artisanal touch, which is something I always gravitate toward in my collections.
Q: Your Antique Linen Lumbar Pillow blends both vintage charm and modern luxury. How do you like to style it?
A: The linen in this pillow is antique dead stock linen fabric sourced from Ukraine. I especially love that this is traditionally woven on small looms, was often used for Ukrainian folk costumes and household textiles, embodying a rich cultural heritage. It’s incredibly soft but structured enough to hold its shape on a sofa or bed. I like to layer it with other textured pillows to create a cozy, inviting look. It’s the perfect neutral piece that goes with just about anything, yet it still has a distinct character.
Q: Brass is making a comeback! What can you tell us about the Vintage French Brass Candle Holder?
A: I’m obsessed with brass—especially as it ages and develops that beautiful patina. This candle holder is so simple yet impactful. I love using brass in smaller doses, like on a dining table or clustered with other candle holders on a mantel. It has a way of elevating any space without being too showy, and the warm glow from the brass makes it feel especially cozy.
Q: The Wii Basket with Purple Graphism by Yanomami stands out with its artisanal craftsmanship. What role do pieces like this play in your collection?
A: Supporting indigenous artisans is a huge part of what I do at Mararamiro Home. This basket is handwoven by the Yanomami people, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. The purple designs are hand-painted and really add a pop of color and artistry. It’s a great example of how handmade pieces can blend seamlessly with vintage items to create a more personal, collected look in the home. I love using it for storage or as a statement on an empty shelf.
